I also enjoyed Todd's talks. Being from the generations he talked about, most of that was not surprising to me, but simply confirmed my ideas and experience and put them into words.

I loved the way he defined the purpose of Christianity: to be transformed into Christlikeness for the sake of others. That is exactly what I have been learning in Colossians and blogging about recently.

One thing that bothered me a little bit was his implication that a "devotion time" or "quiet time" was unnecessary and doesn't work. I liked his examples of practicing the presence of God, but it seems to me that significant one-on-one time with God needs to be coupled with His continual presence - not left out entirely.

Beth and I enjoyed Todd's talks immensely. I t was an interesting paradigm shift to hear/understand that cognitive processing was not the means by which the younger generation is convinced of the reality of God's love. But it certainly made sense, and lines up with our Lord's comment that others will know you are my disciples if you love one another. Can't wait to get Todd's book "Christianity: Beyond Belief"

I totally know how you feel. I envy the clarity of vision/purpose that most missionaries hold. And, I think it's that strong grasp of, and commitment to, God's purposes that helps them be so focused on prayer and prayer requests. God inspire us to pray and to seek the prayers of our brothers and sisters.

I like the name change to "Grow." I've never been fond of care group -- seemed too focused on immediate needs and not quite enough on true growth. I've enjoyed the Hybel's book and feel it will inspire us/me to pray with more understanding and praise. I'm excited to see what God will go---

GROW groups is a good name. I like the emphasis on GROW. The CARE aspect will occur as we GROW. Way to go!

Thanks for the challenging thoughts. I look forward to growing deeper in love with Jesus as we focus on that aspect of G.R.O.W. Hopefully this will result in the natural spilling over of Christ's love into the lives of those who don't know Him.
