Leadership Briefing Reminders

Sunday’s Leadership Briefing was a connecting time for small group leaders, and here is a reminder of the key announcements that will keep you and your group up-to-speed. Hope to get the audio of Pastor Dave’s great teaching on leading a transformational Bible study on the web for you to listen to soon.
• Jan Term classes: information was discussed about these 4-week classes in January that will help us as groups pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus. Please bring this up to your group this week to get them thinking and planning which class to attend together. Classes at Bethel will be offered each day (you pick one) from Sunday through Thursday evenings and begin at 6:30 (with childcare/refreshements provided); after the hour of teaching, groups will gather among themselves to do prayer/share time.
• A response card on your interest (you or your whole group) for going on a God-lover retreat in the spring was distributed. With 4 month notice to select a date, we will plan it around your interest and your preferred calendar date; so please let us know if you have a heart for this kind of getaway to pursue Jesus on an off-site location for 24 hours or less.
• Leader-to-Leader is a way to encourage you to make a link with another small group leader and share 3 things to check in with each other on in the next month (so that no leader is an island) and at the Leadership Briefings on March 9 and May 4.
• Outreach Options was a list of some suggestions for getting your group thinking of serving our community during the Holiday season. Contact people were included.
We also sold a great resource (small book) called Now That’s a Good Question, that is super for practical pointers for helping you lead a transformational Bible study. They sell for $5, and you can email Krisheena.mason@bethel-church.org if you would like one.
Finally, we have a bookshelf full of curriculum ideas for your group for February and beyond in each category of GROW, for your perusal here at the church. They are at Krisheena’s work station, and you can browse them when you have some time. These can also be sent to you (titles/authors) via email for you to research on-line.
