At a recent staff meeting, thematic goal director Kelli Templeton scheduled a check-in for the 5 defining objectives of Pursuing a Deeper Relationship with Jesus. Reporting in:
- Equipping Small Group Leaders: Paul Casey reported on the sermon series (via Kelli and her team) coordinated study being copied over 1400 times and most GROW groups using it currently; the Leadership Community Experience (DVD’s NOW AVAILABLE AT THE MEDIA COUNTER, IF YOU MISSED IT) oriented leaders’ focus through Art Azurdia’s messages and a workshop by Chip Roebuck/John April on leading worship in small groups; the next Leadership Briefing on November 4 will have a thematic goal focus; and the Sower will continue to give practical tips/tools to leaders
- Producing Tools: John Stone reported planning for January start-the-year-off-with-new-habits launch of tools; click on the banner on the web site to go deeper on pursuing Jesus
- Enhancing worship experiences: Chip Roebuck “Wired” venue set to launch on Oct 14; new elements in main services and little things like transitions and uninterrupted worship sets have been occurring
- New experiences: Dave Hilliard reported (via Paul) first God-lover retreat set for November 1-2 for leaders or groups ready for a getaway experience to pursue Jesus (other retreats in spring); (via Kent Ladendorf) eleven Jan Term classes are proposed for January for small groups and other individuals to hear/apply great teaching
- Staff modeling: Dave Dawson reported all-staff meetings and “communion” lunches for 3 months have focused staff on their own personal walks with Jesus; most directors involved in LCE
