June Recap
By Paul | June 29, 2007
Keeping you in the know…
- Boyd Hathaway is the new Deacon of Church Services, and Jim Dirks as the newest elder. The commissions of Missions and Community Service have been dissolved and restructured under staff members Dave Dawson and John Schultz respectively. Bob Bonner is the acting Deacon of Finance for the time being.
- The new positions of Director of Student Ministries and Director of Music are now closed for applications, and the committees are busy at seeking God’s direction for who He would have for service at Bethel. Tim Phillips is the new Venue Launch Facilitator.
- The auditorium and fellowship hall are being updated with new technology/lighting/sound for broadcasting, in light of the new venues this fall.
- Pastor Dave Hilliard will be heading off on sabbatical leave for most of July and August. Pray for refreshment for him and his wife Carol, and that the Lord would give him new insights for greater effectiveness and fervor for his ministry at Bethel for many years to come.
- Next short-term missions trip: a China team is leaving soon!
- Sunday morning attendance at Bethel averaged 1929 for the month of May and 1696 for June (both all-time highs for those months). Praise the Lord for bringing the people here to join us for the disciple-making process!
Pray that the Spirit would mightily use Dave Dawson who will be speaking this Sunday, July 1, on Life in the Spirit from Acts 1:8.
