Leading Disciples Toward Being World-Influencers
By Paul | April 5, 2007
Here are some practical ways you as a small group leader can lead group members toward being better world-influencers:
- Develop strategies as a group for influencing the world.
- Equip the group to share the simple truth of the gospel.
- Perform random acts of kindness as a group.
- Have each member identify an unbeliever to show love to on a regular basis.
- Make a survey for the group with a continuum for worldly-minded vs. Christlikeness for several areas for them to rank themselves and make improvement plans
- Plant seeds of the group going on a short-term missions trip together.
- Adopt a missionary as a group.
- Make an oikos list (a list of unbelievers in each person’s circle of influence) to pray over on a regular basis. Value-added: hold each other accountable for starting up a conversation with the people identified
- Prayer walk
- Organize a bridge-building event to invite unbelievers to.
- Rally behind a community, state, or national issue that preserves morality.
- Serve with or contribute to a local organization that helps people in the name of Christ (e.g. Grace Clinic, Union Gospel Mission, etc.)
- Give to the benevolence fund.
