Bethel’s Staff Looks Back and Looks Ahead

By Paul | March 2, 2007

man-wbinoculars.jpgAt a recent community-building staff meeting, the pastors/directors were asked what new directions they’ve led this year and also what they are excited about for the spring and beyond. Here’s a quick summary for you to rejoice with and pray for:

Teri Pearson: The teenagers working in Discover Zone have been a breath of fresh air.  Excited about a new kids worship team developing now and possibly family worship nights in the future.

Kent Ladendorf: Leveraging the Upward Soccer outreach model to promote a new sport: golf, with a program called LifeLinks this spring

Kelli Templeton: Cafe Resonate has been an awesome monthly connection for 20’s/30’s

Dick Erickson: Has been personally more involved with the development of Ironman groups for men. Excited about a men’s retreat in 2007, a cars event, and possibly a men’s worship night

John Schultz: Getting Elijah’s Pit Stop car ministry to be more self-sustaining, and developing Nehemiah’s Network into more of a construction project ministry. Will be funneling more benevolence requests into life-change opportunities in the future.

Dave Dawson: Broetje Orchards partnership and the Hispanic Outreach Team have been kicked off with a lot of passion. Revitalization of global missions ministry is ongoing.

Scott Hord: Finding champions for each phase of middle school ministry. Sunday’s study will be outreach in focus for this spring

Linda Bechtel: Just Walk Across the Room has been received well by the JOY groups, and women’s ministry in general has been more outreach-oriented in focus. Looking at a women’s retreat for this spring.

Pastor Dave Bechtel: Invite theme, the NOW vision, and the Espresso Cafe contacts after the services have all been energizing.  Soon personally going to Christ College for 48 hours of studying the life of Christ.

Chip Roebuck: Has restructured the worship teams this year and has been personally selecting the music we sing. Excited about recent talk with the elders about the vision for worship at Bethel, including a summer worship intern this summer and a creative team forming

Mary Spanner: Coffee mugs for Newcomers, along with great volunteer leadership in the orientations!  New leadership of door greeters coming on line soon.

Dave Hilliard: The Leadership Briefing has been great to unify our small group leaders, with hopes of making the groups even better.  Learning from outreach events like the parenting one and marriage one for getting disconnected people into small groups. Looking forward to the church thematic goal for this fall and also identifying more leaders.

Bob Bonner: Excited about focusing on younger couples at Bethel and getting them plugged in. Lots of delays this year to get the new building going, but excited about its launch this spring/summer.

Jan Sederburg: Loves plugging people in, using their giftedness, for special events; looking forward to the inclusiveness mentality of Sharefest–shooting for 1200 people connected to a project and each other!

Paul Casey: trying to be a good coach of 26 small group leaders, as well as launching the Sower weekly email and Small Group Leader section of our web site to resource and inform and inspire leaders. Excited about the Leader Learning Lunches each 3rd Friday and the Maximum Impact leadership simulcast on May 11–both for workplace leaders to improve their leadership skills
