Devotional Thought
By Paul | February 9, 2007
Here is a first stab at a regular weekly devotional thought for leaders, from my own quiet time with God. Let me know if you’d find it something of value as a regular Sower feature.
My format for the past 9 months? I read one chapter and ask God for a phrase or verse that He is speaking directly to me about, for my personal application this day, and then write a prayer to Him in my journal. It’s made my devotional life richer than ever before in my life!
2 Chronicles 19 (The Message) Instructions from King Jehoshaphat to appointed judges
19:7 “Live in the fear of God–be most careful…”
19:11 “Be bold and diligent. And God be with you as you do your best.”
“My dear Father, Who is present with me, especially when I’m seeking and serving You wholeheartedly, may I be careful, bold, and diligent in my walk and my leadership: careful in words and purity; bold in using my voice for you and “going for it” for Kingdom-pursuits; and diligent in all my hands do and in every role I play. In Jesus’ name, Amen.“

I really appreciated this Devotional Thought column and think it would be worthwhile to appear as a regular feature in the Sower. It helps to see practical bible study ideas presented in example format. Keep up the great work!
